Baby Girl's Nursery!

I figured since baby girl is 15 months old, maybe now it's time to finish her nursery (before it's time for her "big girl" room!!!!) So I got sweet hubby to finally hang her things and thought I'd share her room with y'all! Let me just say that by NO MEANS am I an interior decorator or a photographer so bear with me! Sometimes not being these two things holds me back on my blog because of my insecurity that everyone's pictures and decor are so much better than mine!

Anyway, back to the nursery...I never set out with a plan. As a matter of fact, we didn't even know that it was going to be a "she" that was joining our family. So we chose a green paint that would match our "boy" bedding and our "girl" bedding. So her bed became this:

Yes, I know I should've fixed the crib sheet before I took the picture but you were warned! Her bedding is Amy Coe that I actually got about four years ago because I fell in love with how sweet it is. It wasn't fancy or expensive but just stood out to me! Little man came home to this baby bedding because mommy just "knew" he was a girl). Needless to say, we had to get some new bedding made for HIM!

I actually made the DREAM letters above her bed...well, I bought the wooden letters at Hobby Lobby and covered them with this wallpaper which was in my grandparents dining room. Just seeing this wallpaper reminds me so much of them and since baby girl is my grandmother's namesake....there is alot of my grandmother incorporated into this room!

Since there was never a plan, I just started seeing things I liked and putting them in her nursery. So many items in her room have such family history and I love that. I know this sounds crazy but I feel the love and legacy that my grandparents and father left when I'm in this room. This sweet dress was my dad's baby gown. It hung in both the boys nurseries as well but I replaced the blue ribbon on the hangar with the pink one!!!

I saw this piece of "art" and instantly fell in love! Because let me just tell you that "mama bird DOES love her girl!" I still have moments of shock that I have a GIRL!!! I just still can't get over it and I eat her up on a daily basis!

Which brings us to this picture! She gets kissed on all day long (by ALL of us!) I think she definitely knows how much she's loved!

I saw this sign at a Fred's in the mountains...have you ever been to Freds? It's random but sometimes you can score a great find like this sign for $7.99! Seriously? I just thought it was cute and pink and we love all things pink. Plus, I honestly wish so many things for her....I actually cry everytime I hear the Rascal Flatts song "My wish" when I think of my kids.

"My wish for you is that this life becomes all that you want it to

your dreams stay big and your worries stay small

You never need to carry more than you can hold

and while you're out there getting where you're getting to

I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things, too

Yeah, this is my wish."

Last but not least...this Prayer for a Little Girl actually hung in my nursery and my mom saved it for my little girl's nursery one day! I just pray over her every night all of those "wishes" and just feel so blessed and thankful to God for giving her (and the boys) to me.

Change is gonna come!

I'm not a huge New Year's person...
never been big on the New Years Eve parties
and definitely not one to make resolutions
but this year was a little different.
I didn't necessarily jot down resolutions
but they lingered in my head....
because this was going to be the year
FOR ME!

Does it come across as a little selfish?
If it does, I apologize because it really isn't selfish.
It's really unselfish -
I'm putting my oxygen mask on first

No more pregnancies -hopefully -
(still trying to convince a certain someone to make HIS appt.)
no more breastfeeding
no more sleepless nights on end

This is the year to get the baby weight OFF,
exercise more and get more rest,
celebrate my friendships & become the person God wants me to be.

Why is it so hard then when the results aren't fast enough?
Is it a news flash that change takes time?
I started out patiently....running.
Let me please say - I'M NOT A RUNNER.
But I had worked up to a few miles
and the pounds were coming off

That was the encouragement to keep going
until the pain set in
shooting pain with every step
- achilles tendonitis -
looks a little something like this

oh and if that wasn't bad enough
Also Plantars Fasciitis

All of this comes when I've got a good "stride"
My program was actually working
and becoming rewarding but now
no more running for a few weeks
cortizone shots every Friday
ouch.
Just a little roadblock but frustratingly at the
pivotal point in my determination
so I've chosen a different route
while I'm off my feet!
Yep, I joined Weight Watchers
I don't care if that makes me
sound like an old lady
As long as I'm being the best old lady
I can be!
