Bath time!

Y'all I can not even begin to tell you how filthy my boys get during the day! They play so hard that I have just given up on worrying about their clothes or stains (We lose alot of SHOUT around here!) and I've just come to terms with the fact that they are boys and I can't keep them clean!!! People ask me how I'm so laid back on them getting so dirty and practically ruining their clothes but it was a losing battle!!!!

Tonight I went to the put them in the bath and I kid you not, the bath water was already dirty even BEFORE they got in! The edge of the tub was brown where Lawson had sat his hands and all of that dirt was running down the tub into the clean water....it's disgusting! I went to take Andrew's shirt off and a huge pile of sand/gravel fell out of it in his hair, onto the floor and in the tub!!! I didn't even know it was in there! And I've learned not to dare take their shoes off in the house - sand goes flying! Boys will be boys!

They love their bath and for awhile there they didn't want to take one together - thank God those days are over because it's so much easier to throw them both in at the same time....Messier but easier!

And then they coming out smelling "so fresh and so clean, clean" (lyrics from Outkast that I always sing to them!) and I just know they sleep SO GOOD!
These pics were a while ago but some of my favorites! LOVE MY BOYS!

I admit it....I have a crush!

So whatever....I've totally come to terms with it and I really don't care what anyone else thinks about it. I have a crush on Chris Brown. I totally admit it! And I think if you saw him and Jordin Sparks sing on American Idol, then you'll probably agree with me! He is such a great mix of all the R&B singers that I love - they don't need to be named (michael jackson, usher, stevie)
This only means that if you call me while ANY of his songs are on the radio (especially this one!) I won't be answering that phone call. Yep - I'm gonna have to call you back.

Is he even 18? I went online (I KNOW I'M A GEEK!) to try and find out but I couldn't find it anywhere.....did check out his official website though.
I've added two songs of his on my blog - check him out if you haven't yet!!!!

Foul oozing from my bones.....

So I'm so foul that my entire family has left me for the day! And I don't even know what to do with myself!!! I'm sure no one would care to be around me with the mood I'm in right now! It could be hormonal or i guess it really could've started Thursday night and escalated from there! I had Alive After 5 at the store and stood for 5 hours on my feet and I'm telling you the pain is rivaling my wedding night regarding how sore my feet STILL are two days later!

Then as I go to take Lawson to school yesterday, the car wouldn't start! I know that no one has time for their car not starting but I really didn't! I was supposed to be at the school and volunteer that morning with class pictures. This is also a reason I've vowed to myself never to be room mom because EVERY TIME I have to be at the school for something - I'm late or can't make it or whatever. I know they all probably think I'm some sort of flake up there. Anyway, I call Robby and I'm charging the battery by myself (while saying some cuss words along the way!) I finally get the darn thing started and get up to school a little late but still in time to be helpful to the photographer who was SO SWEET! She was just so thankful I was there to help! Which shouldn't the SCHOOL always act like that to any mother who is volunteering her time? I had little man with me because he was going to play at a friends house and we were going to do the exchange in the car pool line but since I got there late - we missed them so I just kept him with me. Anyway, the photographer says "Christy, can you go get the first class - it's the 18-24 month class down so and so hall" so I go to get the class and needless to say it's the two teachers that little man had earlier this year when I had to pull him out because he couldn't stop crying! (keep in mind he NEVER cries at bible study or church nursery on Sundays but for some reason he cried everytime I dropped him off with these ladies!) So I get the assistant teacher and we have the kids (basically two year olds) walking them outside to get their pictures taken....we run into the head teacher and she makes this face like what in the world is she doing here? So she asks "Are you here to help with the class?" which I'm thinking back why in the world would I be here to help with your class? but I answer "I'm here to help with the pictures"....now pay attention - she says back to me "Well, if you are here to help with the pictures, she is set up outside so I'd go up there and see how you can be helpful." Please add all the tone to that when you read it because I SWEAR that's what she said to me!!!! I had had it that morning so I replied "I did that and she told me to come down here and get your class which is what I'm doing!!!" WHATEVER!!!

So then that little class was getting their picture taken and the photographer tells me to go get the next class - Kindergartners - so I do. As I'm bringing them up the stairwell with their teacher - here comes the baby class that just finished down the stairwell back to their classroom - The kindergarten teacher says "everyone stand to the side so the little ones can get through" and the Assistant Teachert (that little man used to have) is up there and says "The helper should be helping us back down to our class but I guess she came to get your class instead.." WHAT THE HECK!!!!!! I'm the helper she's referring to and I'm not there to help her!!! I'm there to help the photographer. So now I just wonder do these two biyatches hate ME or are they that rude to every parent up there? I'm so fed up with little things at that school and I want to say something but don't want to be the complaining parent -

Then as I'm walking to the car and trying not to cry a painter calls to me give me a quote to paint our rental house. Yes, we just kicked our lady out since she hadn't paid March or April - we were like PLEASE JUST GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The whole thing is frustrating and very personal to me since it's where we brought our babies home....needless to say, it needs alot of work again and they left us some pot in the kitchen drawer....I guess that's where her money was going? WHATEVER!

Just a long long day and Robby had a crappy day as well. Got home late, kids are whining, ordered pizza, kids are whining, he had to go BACK to the rental house to mow the lawn, kids are whining, trying to get them bathed and dressed, kids are whining, you know the story -

This morning I'm still foul - robby says it's oozzing from every bone in my body so he took the boys to Touch a Truck and I'm here all alone. Except it doesn't feel like a good thing as some might think! It seems like I've been abandoned! I'm going to take a shower and figure out what the heck to do with my day - I really just want someone to rub my feet for an entire hour!

It's got to be hormones, right?

They do love each other....

So every one knows about my three best friends and how all of our kids have known each other since birth and are best friends - it's really too cute but this week Lawson and Graylyn were together on Spring Break at the lake and they are just too cute together! They love each other so much and it's hard not to hope they fall in love! But everytime I hear this song I can't help but think of them "growing up" and falling in love...yes, it makes me cry!

This picture on the hammock was taken this week at the lake. We roasted marshmallows & made smores.
This one was last summer at the beach -

These next ones are oldies but goodies!!!!

6 years!

Happy Anniversary to us! Today we have been married 6 years and I had no idea what I was getting into when I married this person. I knew he was HOT but I had no idea how great of a husband he was going to be. He understands me better than I even understand myself....he compliments me, tolerates me, assures me, loves me, teaches me, takes care of me, supports me, encourages me and I'm a better person for knowing him!!!

I also had no idea how great of a father he would be!!! WOW! Maybe you should think about that sort of thing when you choose a spouse but I promise you I did not! I just knew he was HOT! I couldn't have hand picked a better father. He always has time for them, puts them first above anything else, he is constantly encouraging the boys, he doesn't go a night without tucking them in and telling them how proud of them he is. He is an amazing father!

I've made some crappy decisions in my life but marrying this man was not one of them. Happy Anniversary babe!

A common misconception...

Something that most people probably don't know about me is I that hardly ever get a full night's sleep. That would seem strange to most since I have almost a 4 and 2 yr. old...they should definitely be sleeping through the night, right? oh, wrong...

I haven't slept through a full night in at least a few weeks. There is always someone that is cutting molars, needs to go tee-tee, can't find their paci, is hot, needs to tell me something, wets the bed (I don't react very well AT ALL to this one - thank God it happens only once in a blue moon!), has a bad dream, is coughing, needs water, needs motrin, or needs to be covered up (seriously!). And the thing about it is my kids are great sleepers! They don't have any sleep issues, they go to bed at a reasonable hour and take wonderful naps. It's just at these late night moments that I'm shuffling around in my sleep, I'm always wondering "am I the only mother with kids my age that is up every night?"

All that to say, I am spending the night downtown Saturday night with my wonderful husband of 6 years for our anniversary and I'm so looking forward to the W Hotel and their HEAVENLY BED!!! Which is on sale right now, by the way! I'm going to sleep ALL night and I'm just so so excited about it! It's the little things that excite me when I'm escaping motherhood for the night!

Lawson sang at chapel!

Our little "numero uno" sang at chapel yesterday and so I thought I'd share with you. Yes, I had tears. He's growing up so fast and he just seems to be too cool to only be three years old!!! We are just so proud of him and thankful everyday for the joy he adds to our life!
