A little something about me...

For those of you who KNOW me, this may not surprise you. But for those of you blog stalkers - I may be sharing a little too much of myself right now.

But the truth of the matter is...
(and I'm not scared to say it!)

is that I love to shop the Goodwill...
You may think less of me now but I really don't care because I find some GREAT stuff!!!!

A friend told me that she had gotten a huge bag of random happy meal type toys at Goodwill for cheap to take on their beach vacation for her 1 year old. She filled up a little pool on the beach and dumped the goodwill toys in and he was happy as a lark! Because they were cheap, she didn't care what happened to them and they could save them or trash them at the end of the week. So I told the kids we were going to Goodwill to pick out some toys for the beach! Here is the bag we scored for our beach trip!

The boys were so excited to go through each piece in the bag!!! It kept them occupied for hours! (Did you notice the price? $5.55!!!

Of course, we found a few other finds while we were there! Baby girl got a tambourine for .77 cents and about FREAKED OUT when I took it away from her to pay for it! (Another reason you might think less of me...yes, my daughter was chewing on her goodwill toy before it was sanitized!)

We also got her a few clothing items....how could you resist these 2 precious things at $1.60 a PIECE?

I'm so excited about this precious dress for the Fall and Winter when baby girl is walking! How cute will that be with white tights and brown mary janes? HOW FUN ARE GIRLS???
And....how fun is the Goodwill!!!!

Some fun new finds!

I just love blog world - I can't believe all the fun and inspiring things I've found that I can't wait to copy!!!! I wanted to share these blogs with you (and specifically the posts that I fell in love with!)

The first one has so many great things I don't even know where to begin! Her pictures are AWESOME, her children are precious, she is so creative and is always giving some sort of sewing, cooking or decorating project but this is the one post that I actually copied first. This recipe for Garden Recipe:Chicken Delight is so yummy!!! And not only is it yummy but it's easy, healthy and no clean up! I highly recommend it!

The next blog that I have become addicted to is this one. This girl is truly amazing! She is so creative and definitely inspires me to do all kinds of projects and makeovers around my house. I just wish I had the time and energy to get them all done! I do have an old antique dresser that I had actually listed to sale on Craigslist when I came upon her blog. Never mind Craigslist! Here is the post that has inspired me to give my new dresser a new look! (I promise to show you the before and after pics!) I love how she shows you every single tiny step and detail and I even emailed her to ask a question and she responded back that day! My husband asked if she could just paint the dresser for us but unfortunately she's in California.

And last but not least, I found this blog because our blog names are so similar and it seems we have so much in common! I mean "Harried Mom of Four - Can I have more coffee please?" That's me with three kids!!! Her description reads: "I'm a wine-drinking, coffee-loving at-home Mom who doesn't like to clean all that much;" ....uh, hello? THAT IS ME! And what's so fun is she is doing a giveaway for her 100th blog (see pic below)

(which I've seen alot lately and wonder why I didn't do that!!! Maybe I"ll do a giveaway for a random number like 133) so go check it out, enter into the drawing and see if you win something! Tell her I sent ya!

3

So we celebrated the 4th in a big way!!!

Little man turned 3 and we had the usual "birthday flag" celebration!

I'm sure at some point in his life he'll request his school friends be there....

I'm sure he won't want a "birthday flag" cake......

Even though mommy still loves it!!!!

I'm sure he'll request a spiderman, batman or Star Wars birhday party...

But this year we celebrated with hotdogs, sparklers and the American Flag!!!!

4th of July is on it's way!

We get really excited about 4th of July around here.....especially this little man:

because he knows when mommy starts getting the decorations out

that his birthday is on the way!!!

He is the reason daddy missed the Peachtree Road Race that he's run in for 17 years in a row...

He is the one that caused us to take back roads to Piedmont Hospital in the early morning....

He is our little "Firecracker" that made his arrival on the 4th of July!

He thinks this is his very own "birthday flag" and points it out whenever he sees one!

And he is turning 3 on Saturday! Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful 4th!

Fathers Day 2009

Prov. 20:7, "The righteous man leads a blameless life; blessed are his children after him."

We hope everyone enjoyed their Fathers Day! As you can see by the pictures, we really love our 'Daddy"!!!! We had a great day celebrating him. The kids and I made him a book complete with all their handprints and pictures and interviews with each child asking them special things about their daddy. At the end of the book, I answered the same questions the kids answered - it turned out really cute. We also gave him a pair of these.

We saw one of our favorite
speakers at church - and all the kids wore "Fathers Day" type shirts.

How cute is baby girls shirt? I got it from here. Thanks TB!

Today would have been my own father's 67th birthday - it's so unfortunate that we lost him 21 years ago. I can't wait to be reunited with him again!

So thankful for the man I married and that we have this day to celebrate and count our blessings.......Hope everyone's dad is as wonderful as ours!

P.S. Can you tell I've been playing around with my blog?

My girl.......

Change has been brought to this house! I would almost go so far as to say it's "rocked" this house but that sounds so harsh and the reality of it is that this change is so pleasant! It has made our house "softer" and "sweeter" - the change I'm referring to is this:

Baby girl brings so much joy to this house...a house that didn't know it could USE any more joy! Me personally being the "baby" of the family, I now truly know what that entails! I witness it everyday! She's loved from her head to her toes (literally!), kissed on thousands of times a day, greeted immediately while still in her bed from two big brothers bursting at the seams to see her awake!

Everything she puts on is so "girly" that we all just "ooohhhh and ahhhhhh" over it! Even her brothers say "you look so pretty!" (I wish you could hear the actual tone in their voices) Her closet is adorned with smocked dresses, bubbles and monogrammed shirts in colors of pink, hot pink, pastel pink - in other words, we can't get enough of pink around here!

No one can go to bed for the night without giving baby girl a kiss - sometimes I even think it's the boys way of stalling their bedtimes but right when they get that special kiss, they go right on to bed!

She lights up when her daddy enters the room and I can immediately tell that everything during his day was just erased from that special smile and the smile he returns is like nothing I've ever seen on him. It's an expression that's special and unique only for her. Those are the moments I fall in love with him over and over again! (But that's another blog!!!)

During pregnancy I always said I would've been fine having a third boy and I do still truly believe that! There is definitely something so special about three boys but I'm so glad that God knew what this family needed and gave us this precious baby girl.

Busy Busy Summertime!

Summer is in full swing and we have been busy every day doing something fun! I haven't had my camera with me as much as I've liked but here's a little of what we've been doing...

GA Aquarium with friends!!!

Watching Beluga whales in amazement....

just giddy over all the fish!

little man was in awe of it all.....

Then finished off the day with lunch at my favorite place!!!

We've had lots of outside visitors.....

We found this one in our trashcan and he'd eaten the entire bag
of chips from Moe's we'd thrown away!

The boys loved this little turtle and he just crawled all over our deck!

Our sweet family of baby birds unfortunately aren't pictured here
but who needs National Geographic?

WE'VE HAD LOTS OF POOL TIME!!!!

little man was FEARLESS last year and all of sudden this year he's "scared"

This was the first time we put baby girl in her bathing suit - we were all so excited!

This one is going to be our little heartbreaker I'm afraid! He's got that charm!

Numero Uno is growing up so fast!!!!

Daddy with baby girl her first time in the pool! She loved it!

Hope everyone is having a great summer!!!!!
